Why Sew Workshop is a worker-owned, independent sewing & design studio.
Since 2017, we have been striving to help independent creatives and innovators like you gain accesss to the same quality industrial manufacturing techniques used by big-name companies, with skilled operators who earn a living wage and benefits.
Why Sew Workshop offers highly personalized small-batch sewing and design services with no minimum order quantity. We are one outlet in the fight against the homogenization of fashion, the dehumanization of garment workers, and gross industry overproduction.
We understand sewing as a fine art, a skilled craft, and an accessible means of problem solving. Sewing is one of the most misunderstood and underutilized forms of engineering out there, and our team is ready to give your concept the competitive advantage.
Why Sew Workshop was founded in 2017 by owner and production manager Lauren Purdum, who noticed a gap in the industry for artists and other creatives who could not and did not want to afford 500-piece minimums required by larger factories. Lauren was formally diagnosed with autism in 2022 and is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity in the workplace.
